| We are studying neurodegenerative diseases and synaptic transmission disorders, in particular Alzheimers disease. To this end we use a combination of state of the art approaches including primary neuronal cultures, organotypic cultures and animal models. In this regard we have developped inducible KO and KI models of the amlyloid precursor protein APP and for the related APLPs. More recently we started to leverage the physiological functions of secreted neurotrophic APPs fragments for Alzheimer treatment. | | Institute of Pharmacy and Molecular Biotechnology | |
