MSC Molecular Biosciences: Neuroscience MajorStructure of the Program
In total, the program takes two years to complete; four semesters in total (although with careful planning it can be done in three semesters). In the first semester there are some general courses covering the basics of molecular biosciences and some specialisation modules. In the second semester there are two courses focusing much more in depth on Neuroscience. During both these semesters, you should also do different lab rotations in the different labs within the IZN.
There are several optional short courses you can take covering an introduction to neuronal networks and neuroanatomy, but also an introduction to either programming in Python or R. The third semester is the most suited to do a lab rotation abroad. Then, in the fourth semester, you will write your master’s thesis with one of the neuroscience research groups associated to the program.
