Institute Open Positions

Students

PhD Student

The group of Dr. Annarita Patrizi in the Institute of Neurobiology has an opening for a PhD thesis position investigating the role of Wnt signaling in the onset of choroid plexus tumors and their potential as a therapy target. The project will employ 3D organoids, genetic tools, multi-omics, and high-resolution imaging to uncover Wnt pathways linking signaling to tumor development and treatment. Please see the attached advertisement for more details.

Master Thesis Student

The group of Prof. Dr. Valery Grinevich has an opening for a Master Thesis position in stem cell biology and oxytocin neuroscience. The project is embedded in a translational neuroscience framework exploring the physiology of the human oxytocin system, and will focus on human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC) research and neuronal differentiation. Please see the attached advertisement for more details.

PhD and Master Students

The group of Dr. Magdalene Schlesiger has positions open for Ph.D. and Master students with a strong analytical/computational background and an interest in experimental neuroscience to work on a joint project between the Schlesiger lab (Heidelberg University Clinic and the German Cancer Research Center, Heidelberg, Department of Prof. Hannah Monyer) and the Leibold lab (Group for Theoretical Systems Neuroscience, Freiburg University). Please see the attached advertisement for more details.

Students

The group of Dr. Magdalene Schlesiger has positions open for PhD, Medical and Master students. The projects aim to investigate how the formation of long-term memories is altered by the addiction to drugs such as amphetamine and cocaine and will use sophisticated electrophysiological in vivo recordings from large ensembles of neurons in mice performing memory tasks.
